Hawk Lake Dinner

As expected in a lodge of this quality, the choices are numerous and the meals are superb. Great care is taken in preparation and serving. The atmosphere is warm, casual and intimate. The food, prepared to order, is plentiful and inviting.

Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

The breakfast bar features fresh fruit, hot and cold cereals, biscuits, sausage gravy, fruit juices, yogurt and sweet rolls. Our chef's daily specials include your choice of eggs any way you like them, omelets, pancakes, waffles, french toast, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast or english muffins.

For the very avid anglers, we offer a “to go” breakfast (delivered to your cabin the night before) consisting of juice, egg ham and cheese muffin, cold cereal, milk and sweet roll to allow you an early morning start on the water.

Lunch

You can return to the lodge for soup, sandwich and fresh salad or if you prefer to stay on the water (it can be tough to get away from a great day of fishing) you have several choices. We can either prepare for you a packed to order picnic lunch with choice of sandwich, salad, fresh fruit, cookies and cold drinks. Or, for the complete Canadian fishing experience you can have a shore lunch. No trip is complete without at least one hot lunch cooked over an open fire! We will provide all of the utensils and goodies for a delicious meal. We start with fresh walleye fillets and then add all the accoutrements including onions, potatoes, beans, corn, oil, fresh lemon, fruit, cookies and a variety of spices as well as all of the necessary utensils. There are many lunch spots on our lakes. You stop whenever you're hungry, build a small fire (we provide the wood) and cook a delicious, hot meal to your liking.

Hors d'oeuvres are served on the lodge decks along with cocktails. Mingle with your hosts and other guests and share some of the day's excitement, great fish stories and hot spots of the day. This is also a great time to talk with our guides and pick their brains for tips and current fishing conditions!

Dinner is served between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Start with homemade soup and breads with a fresh salad each evening. Entrees include Prime Rib, BBQ Chicken, Roast Cornish Game Hen, Grilled Shrimp and Vegetable Kabob, Honey fried Walleye, Capellini Primavera, BBQ Baby Pork Ribs, Sauteed Chicken breasts, Grilled T-bone, Bacon wrapped fillet, Baked stuffed Pork Chops and specialty pastas. Dinner entrees are served with fresh vegetables, potatoes, wild rice or pasta. Finish your meal with a selection of desserts offered each evening.

A varied menu with many options is offered for your enjoyment. If you have special requests or dietary requirements, with a bit of advance notice we can meet your needs.

Veal Marinara

Hawk Lake BBQ Pork Ribs
Slow cooked ribs with our own homemade BBQ sauce.

Ginger Scallops
Seared scallops in a delicate ginger sauce.

Wednesday

Woodsmen Pasta
Baked penne pasta loaded with beef tenderloin tips & Italian sausage in a cheese and tomato sauce.

Boneless chicken in a traditional medium spiced red Thai curry.

Thursday

Mediterranean Lamb Shanks
Tender lamb braised in red wine and rosemary.

Chicken Apricot
Boneless chicken breast stuffed with apricots, feta cheese and toasted pinenuts
with mint pesto on the side.

Friday

NY Striploin Steak with Mushrooms
10oz hand cut steak with sautéed mushrooms in red wine shallot reduction.

Shrimp Linguine Primavera
Jumbo shrimp tossed with pasta in a light herb sauce with seasonal vegetables.

Saturday

Smoky Bison Short Ribs
Succulent bison short ribs with hints of bourbon and coffee with a little kick from chipotle peppers.

Great North Walleye
Pan seared local walleye fillet glazed with maple butter.

Sunday

Caribbean Pork Tenderloin Medallions
Roasted pork tenderloin marinated in citrus and garlic with mango (or seasonal fruit) salsa. 

Manitoba Roasted Turkey Breast
Roasted turkey breast stuffed with cranberry pear (or seasonal fruit) compote.

If you prefer to fish later in the evening as the bite is just too hard to resist no problem. We will gladly deliver your meal to you in your cabin and you can eat at your leisure.

Children's Menu

For those with children that may not be in the mood for more adult orientated fare we have a wide selection of kid friendly meals that will keep them coming back for seconds and the entire clan fully satisfied. From homemade pizza, burgers and fries, to macaroni with cheese, fresh cut chicken tenders, quesadillas, spaghetti and meatballs and teriyaki chicken. If your little ones have anything they can't live without just give us a little heads up and we'll do our best to make sure everyone goes to bed happy!

Our breakfast was prepared and brought to our rooms, as well as gourmet lunches for the next day on the water. Our dinner was served in a lodge fit for a king. The dinner was comparable to any first class restaurant in any big city. The chef (yes, chef) was of foreign descent and trained in Europe. The staff waited on us hand and foot during the entire stay. It was an unbelievable trip, to say the least. - Mike Kelly, 2011
